To me a charging rhinoceros is one of the coolest things in nature unless you’re on the receiving end of their horn. The intensity and veracity are mesmerizing. This piece was about texture and movement for me. I used what my daughter calls scribble scrabble for the texture of the Rhino. I think it gives it an appropriately frenetic feel. This piece is also about a moment in a rampage. The moment that it’s too late.
My originals are hand drawn graphite on smooth Bristol paper and come framed in a frame that I buy from Michael’s with a 40% off coupon.
